Brazilian Butt Lift - Fat Transfer to the Buttocks
Buttock Augmentation - Los Angeles | Orange County | Inland Empire
The Brazilian Butt Lift is an increasingly more popular procedure with the growing popularity of a fuller buttocks such as that of Jenifer Lopez and Kim Kardashian. This buttock augmentation procedure utilizes a precise fat injection method to achieve a fuller, rounder backside. This procedure also results in a smoother, lifted appearance as well.
The ideal candidate for a Brazilian Butt Lift is at least 18 years of age, in good health and has realistic expectations about enhancing the buttocks to natural proportions. Buttock augmentation can also be performed utilizing butt implants, however, buttock enhancement through fat injections (fat transplantation) is the preferred method for many board certified plastic surgeons.

Fat Transfer to the Buttocks - Buttock Augmentation Surgery
The Brazilian Butt Lift is performed in two parts. First liposuction is performed to receive fat from a donor site. Often time this is the back, flanks, "love handles" or thighs, depending on the amount of fat needed to be removed this may require several donor sites. Once the fat is extracted it is purified then strategically injected into the fat layers of the buttocks. Dr. Smaili is an expert in Brazilian Butt Lift surgery, creating smooth and natural looking results.
Before Brazilian Butt Lift Surgery
Prior to your procedure, you will need to receive medical clearance to be sure you are a candidate for this procedure.
Patients must refrain from smoking 2 weeks prior and two weeks following surgery to prevent blood thinning and promote optimal healing. Patients must also refrain from coffee, soda and other caffenated products, as well as certain herbal supplements, aspirin and other blood thinning products. A comprehensive list of DO's and DON'Ts for before and after buttock implants will be provided when you schedule your procedure. It is recommended that plastic surgery patients take Arnica and Bromelin prior to their procedure to reduce bruising and swelling.
All patients are required to have a driver the day of surgery. You will not be able to drive yourself home. Be sure to make accommodations prior to your day of surgery. You will also need someone to care for you for the first 24 hours. Before buttock augmentation surgery, we also recommend you prepare your home - set up a comfortable recovery area, purchase beverages with electrolytes, ice pops, crackers, anything you think you may want.
After Brazilian Butt Lift / Recovery
You will need to rest for the first 24 hours after Brazilian Butt Lift Surgery. Following the procedure, many patients compare the feeling to "a severe bruise or muscle cramp". Medication will be prescribed to help alleviate any discomfort. Be sure to walk around gently in the days following your procedure to avoid blood clotting.
You will need to sleep on your stomach for at least two weeks and sit on a cushion for at least 6 weeks after surgery. Avoid direct pressure on the buttocks for approximately two months. Compression garments are used to promote healing and reduce swelling and should be worn for at least 6 weeks. You will also be advised to massage the buttocks for a soft, natural result. Specific instructions will be provided during your post operative appointment.
Patients can typically return to work and regular activities in about one weeks. At this time you will be able to go on a gentle walk, but you must refrain from jogging, running and other forms of exercise for at least 6 weeks.
