HOW IS A TUMMY TUCK PERFORMED?

MINI TUMMY TUCK – MINIMAL INCISION TUMMY TUCKS

A mini tummy tuck is performed by making an incision from hip to hip on the lower abdomen, low enough for tummy tuck scars to be covered by underwear or a bikini. The length of the incision depends on the amount of skin to be removed. A mini tummy tuck incision is typically much shorter than that of a standard tummy tuck. Once the incision is made, the abdomen may be contoured utilizing tumescent liposuction. Skin is tightened and excess skin is removed to provide patients with a flatter, smoother abdomen. Candidates for a mini tummy tuck have excess sagging skin below the belly button. The incision for a full tummy tuck extends from hip to hip. Like the mini tummy tuck, scars will be hidden in the bikini line. The length of the incision varies upon the amount of skin to be removed.  Muscles are tightened utilizing an advanced suturing technique and excess skin is removed. A high lateral tension tummy tuck differs in the technique utilized to tighten the muscles. The suturing technique acts as an internal corset to bring in the sides of the abdomen for a toned, hour glass shape.
